His nine-year stint at the radio station has come to an end

DJ Tim Westwood has stepped down from his position on Capital Xtra amid recent sexual misconduct allegations.

A Global spokesperson has since confirmed that the DJ has left his show, stating that “Following the claims that have recently come to light, Tim Westwood has stepped down from his show until further notice.”

Westwood, 64, has denied all the allegations levelled against him – however at least seven women are thought to have come forward detailing alleged predatory behaviour including groping, manipulation and abuse of power through his position in the music industry.

Westwood joined Capital Radio in 2013 after more than two decades at the BBC.
