Bear with, bear with, bear with
Miranda Hart has denied rumours that her popular sitcom is set to return to our screens, after reports had suggested she had finished writing a fourth series.
The show followed Hart as a fictionalised version of herself, running a joke shop with her best friend Stevie (Sarah Hadland) and being constantly hassled by her eccentric mother Penny (Patricia Hodge) about her relationship status.
Tom Ellis starred as Miranda’s love interest and – spoiler warning – eventual husband, and who can forget the iconic Sally Phillips as Tilly, the group’s posh friend.
The popular show ran for three series from 2009 to 2013. There were then two finale specials in on Christmas Day 2014 and New Years Day 2015.
The show most recently returned in January 2020 for a 10th anniversary special recorded at the London Palladium.
The Sun reported that the comedian had finished writing a fourth series of the show and that she “hoped everyone likes it.”
But the comedian has now denied the rumours.
In a tweet, she said that “what was in the papers today didn’t come from me.” She added that “nothing was planned at this time.”

Hart has never ruled out the series returning, and last year revealed that she had considered “reviving” the show. However, she said that the circumstances hadn’t “quite aligned” for the show to return.
Speaking on The Gaby Roslin Podcast last year, she said: “I think when you create characters like that, that you’ve lived with for a long time, they do become part of you.
“I do think of them from time to time, a bit like you would a friend that you haven’t seen for a while, ‘Oh, what would they be up to…’
“But it is something that I would say that I’m now not ruling out.”
