‘Who did they buy?’
Mario Balotelli has revealed that he was left shocked by Sergio Agüero after his first training session at Manchester City… and not in a good way.
Balotelli and Agüero were speaking together on the Argentinian’s Twitch live stream, where they reminisced about their days at Man City, having both helped to secure the club’s first ever Premier League title in 2012.
‘I looked at you in training and you don’t do anything in training’
However the Italian admitted that he was surprised by Agüero when he first arrived from Atletico Madrid and claimed that the legendary forward ‘didn’t do anything in training.’
“The first time, when you arrived at City, you did one or two training sessions before the game,” the forward recalled.
“I looked at you in training and you don’t do anything in training. You walk, you don’t run, ‘who did they buy?’
Aguero went on to score two goals on his debut against Swansea City, including a stunning opening goal, which left his former teammate lost for words.
“In the second half, you enter, one minute in you scored a goal from 30 metres! Fénonemo!”

Aguero was then seen laughing away and duly responded to the revelation from Balotelli. He said: “Of course he does not train and score goals!”
Balotelli then continued to reveal his shock at Agüero’s impact at the Eithad Stadium. “You surprised me a lot,” he said once again.

Aguero went on to become the club’s all-time record scorer with 257 goals to his name, 181 of those coming in the Premier League to make him the league’s fourth-highest all-time scorer in a 10-year period at City.
Meanwhile Balotelli spent three seasons at City, scoring 20 times in the top-flight before leaving in 2013.
