‘You say ‘F**k it, we’re on Team Johnny Depp,’ that would probably pump up their stock market price’
Joe Rogan reckons he has a solution for Disney’s slumping shares – and it involves Johnny Depp.
Disney’s stock prices have been in free fall for the past month and are currently down 46 percent on their 2021 high.
And Joe Rogan thinks Disney can use the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard to their advantage to halt their sliding share prices.

On a recent edition of his podcast, Rogan said: “I wonder if they’re gonna put him [Depp] back on Pirates of the Caribbean.
“If Disney wanted to reclaim all the stock that they’ve lost, all the market share they’ve lost over the past couple of months, I guarantee, you say ‘F**k it, we’re on Team Johnny Depp,’ that would probably pump up their stock market price.
“Like literally, that would cause their stock to raise.
“If they’re just like, ‘You know what? We’re bringing Johnny back, we believe him.'”

Depp was dropped from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise by Disney in 2019. Many assumed this was because of the 2018 op-ed Amber Heard wrote in which she discussed being a victim of domestic abuse, but the studio has claimed the decision to drop Depp had been made before this and that they simply wanted to take the franchise in a “different direction.”
A petition set up during the defamation trial between Depp and Heard calling for the actor to return to the franchise has received almost 620,000 signatures at the time of writing.
However, Depp has said during the trial that he would not return for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 even if Disney offered it to him, Variety reports.
During the trial, Heard’s attorney asked him: “If Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film? Correct?”
Depp answered: “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”
So even if Disney did decide to take Rogan’s advice, it doesn’t sound like they’d have much luck.
