An announcement is thought to be imminent
Erling Haaland’s move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City is believed to be a ‘done deal’ with an announcement on the striker’s future thought to be imminent.
Haaland was expected to leave the Bundesliga side this summer, with City and Real Madrid both strongly linked with him.
It now appears City have won the race, with David Ornstein writing in The Athletic that sources in Germany have made it clear the deal is complete, with official confirmation due as soon as this week.
Former Norway international and journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft, who has covered Haaland’s development over recent years, also hinted that a big announcement was imminent on Twitter on Sunday – tweeting a sand timer emoji.

Haaland agreed person terms last month
It was reported last month that City had agreed initial personal terms with Haaland’s representatives, with the player himself giving the green light for the move.
Since then there has been discussions between City and Dortmund. The 21-year-old has a release clause in his contract, which – barring any late hitches – the Premier League club are expected to meet.
By joining City, Haaland will follow in the footsteps of his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, who joined the club from Leeds United at the end of his career.
Haaland could have joined United two years ago
Haaland was born in Leeds and began his professional career in Norway with Bryne. He later played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde before moving to Red Bull Salzburg.
His prolific scoring in Austria – especially in the Champions League – alerted several of the continent’s top clubs. Solskjaer was keen to bring him to Manchester United, only for Ed Woodward to block the deal over the insistence of a release clause in his contract.
As a result, he joined Dortmund, where he has continued his progress.
