‘For me, I feel embarrassed sometimes’
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has admitted to being embarrassed at times on the pitch this season.

Now, goalkeeper De Gea, who has been at Old Trafford since 2011, has admitted it was ‘painful’ to lose to rivals Liverpool at Anfield, and that he feels ‘horrible’ on the pitch.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Spaniard said: “It’s tough, for me it’s very tough, I’ve been here many years and being there on the pitch [at Anfield vs Liverpool] and being 4-0 down is too painful.

“For me I feel embarrassed sometimes, it’s difficult to say but I feel horrible on the pitch, so this is why we have to change this mindset and everything and come on, everyone do more and try to win games and be there in the top positions.”
United’s underwhelming defence
Despite the Red Devils conceding 51 goals this season – the most in the top 10 of the Premier League – De Gea has performed well individually. United have recorded just nine clean sheets in all competitions this campaign, which has played a significant part in their underwhelming season.
