The incident occurred shortly after Shakur Stevenson’s win in Las Vegas on Saturday
Boxer Shakur Stevenson was seen running off stage amid fears around his mother’s safety after a mass brawl occurred after his fight on Saturday evening.
Stevenson was celebrating his two new titles (the WBC and ‘The Ring Strap’ in addition to his WBO belt) following a win against Oscar Valdez in Las Vegas. However, his mind soon turned to the safety of his family.
Stevenson left the stage to check on his family
Footage showed the Olympic medalist looking unsettled by an altercation going on to the left of him during his post-fight conference, before putting his belts down and heading towards the issue in the neighbouring room.
Not exactly clear what happened, but Shakur Stevenson’s post-fight press conference just ended like this…

It’s unclear if Stevenson himself was involved in the brawl, with multiple reports claiming the boxer’s family were shut inside a room as security did their best to calm people down and clear the area.

The boxer’s manager, James Prince, reportedly had a text which confirmed that the 24-year-old and his mother were “fine,” according to Yahoo, who also confirmed that a spokesperson from the MGM said they would refuse to comment until a full investigation had been conducted.
Stevenson’s night had been an eventful one having also proposed to his girlfriend, and rapper, Young Lyric, who accepted his hand in marriage after the 18th win of his career.
‘Line them up and name them, I’m ready for whoever’
Following the fight the American insisted that he has ambitions to become the undisputed champion of the super-featherweight division.
“I’m a superstar in this sport,” he said.
“Line them up and name them, I’m ready for whoever. I might go collect all the belts at [super featherweight] and become undisputed.”
